Financial Literacy
Fidelity Bank is a long-standing supporter of education and financial literacy. With the foundation of education, a person’s opportunities are limitless. Education provides the skills and tools for people of any age to lead a financially successful life. To help people become better money managers, our employees volunteer in local schools and organizations throughout our communities. We make presentations and teach classes on a wide variety of banking, credit and financial topics.
Fidelity Bank has adopted numerous Elementary schools and Day Cares to participate in presentations on the importance of Savings. Students are also given an opportunity to open a Little Lion Savings Account. The school presentations are made during PTA meetings and are available to students, teachers and parents. Regular return visits during the school year are made and a teller station is set up for children who have a savings account to make deposits. We provide this service to familiarize children with banking transactions. A Fidelity Bank booth is also set up at schools’ open houses to provide information on all of our products and assist individuals with any banking, financial or credit questions.
Our employees also make presentations using the American Banker’s Association Get Smart About Credit program. The curriculum is geared to help people at any age enhance their money management skills and understand basic financial services. Topics covered include credit, debt, identity theft prevention, protecting your ATM card and the value of budgeting your money. These presentations are made at:
